Launch of CHILTERN ALE & GARLIC MUSTARD and BEECHWOOD HOP-LEAF & HONEY MUSTARD
Shaken Oak Products, manufacturer of hand-made mustards, have teamed up with The Chiltern Brewery to produce two speciality mustards for sale in the brewery shop.
After tasting a variety of sample mustards made using Chiltern Ale and Beechwood Hop-Leaf Bitter Richard’s sons Tom and George, who now run the brewery, decided to choose Chiltern Ale & Garlic Mustard and Beechwood Hop-Leaf & Honey Mustard as the two best samples to develop and sell alongside their other beer-related products.
Chiltern Ale & Garlic Mustard is a medium-strength wholegrain mustard with a hint of garlic and liberal amounts of light and refreshing Chiltern Ale. It is an excellent mustard to serve with cold meats and vegetable dishes, and also as an ingredient in sauces and salad dressings.
Beechwood Hop-Leaf Bitter & Honey Mustard is a stronger mustard using the brewery’s flagship bitter. A pinch of Fuggles hops and additional honey are added to the mustard mix to give a well-rounded and memorable taste. Try this mustard with cold meat pies, sausages or steak.
The Chiltern Brewery (www.chilternbrewery.co.uk) based at Terrick, near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, launched the first Chiltern beers in 1980 and is the oldest working brewery in the county. The micro-brewery has in recent years concentrated on selling beer direct from the brewery and developing sales of bottled beers. It organises brewery tours, has a well stocked shop and sells draught and bottled beers.
WYCHWOOD BREWERY
We are in process of developing a mustard for this Witney based brewery using their popular Hobgoblin Beer. Further details later in the year.
