Hot Mustard
This Hot Mustard is of the coarse grain variety and will give you a gentle glow.
How to eat this mustard ...
It's an excellent accompaniment for roast beef, ham, pork pies and sausages. It is also a useful ingredient in soups and stews.
Recipe
Leek and Mustard Tart
(Serves 4)
Ingredients:
- 250 g short-crust pastry
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 500 g leeks
- 2 large eggs
- 150 ml crème fraiche
- 2-3 tablespoons Shaken Oak Hot Mustard
- 125 g goats' cheese
- chopped chives
- salt and pepper
Method
- roll out the pastry and line a large tin
- chill for 10-15 minutes
- bake blind in a pre-heated oven at 200 C (400 F) Gas Mark 6 for 15 minutes
- remove from oven
- melt the butter in a saucepan and gently fry the leeks until tender
- add a little water if necessary
- beat the eggs in a bowl and then stir in the crème fraiche, mustard, leeks, cheese, chives and seasoning
- pour the mixture into the pastry case and bake at 200 C (400 F) Gas Mark 6 for about 20 minutes until the top is golden brown
- serve hot or cold with a green salad
